Akshayy S Nanda was invited to moderate a panel discussion titled “Navigating India’s New Personal Data Protection Framework” at the American Bar Association (ABA): The Global Lawyer Summit, held on March 28 & 29 at Taj Mansingh, New Delhi.
The highlight of the panel discussion was a special address by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul, whose insights into the right to privacy and the importance of the personal data protection laws in today’s data driven economy were invaluable and enlightening.
The distinguished panel, comprising of seasoned industry experts, delved into the various aspects of the DPDPA, discussing the challenges, compliance strategies, and the broader implications for privacy and data security in the digital domain. The dialogue spanned the practicalities of implementation, industry readiness, and the collaborative path forward for regulators and the private sector.
The panel comprised of Rakesh Maheshwari (Former MeitY Officer, @Cyber Law and Cyber Security Division), Ashish Agarwal (Vice President, Public Policy at Nasscom), Damini Marwah (Group Chief Legal Officer and Chief Ethics Officer at Axis Bank), Meenal Nasa (Senior Corporate Counsel – Corporate, External and Legal Affairs at Microsoft) and, Adhiraj Singh (Associate General Counsel at MakeMyTrip).
